Frieze Sculpture returns to London’s Regent’s Park, 18 September – 27 October 2024. The much-celebrated public art initiative coincides with Frieze London and Frieze Masters, which take place concurrently in The Regent’s Park, 9 – 13 October. Curated by Fatoş Üstek, Frieze Sculpture has expanded for its 12th edition to include 22 leading international artists hailing from five continents, whose work will be sited throughout the park’s historic English Gardens.
Üstek said: ‘This year’s Frieze Sculpture features daring and experimental artistic approaches. It also carves a place for playful encounters, socially and environmentally conscious themes, as well as conceptual and spiritual practices that expand the notion of public sculpture. With public programmes and collaborations across London organizations, the 2024 edition of Frieze Sculpture has more than ever to offer.’
Building on Üstek’s first edition in 2023, this year’s programme embraces an expanded notion of sculpture, featuring 18 new works and highlighting artists who explore the medium’s possibilities by engaging with sound, light, performance, painting, video and augmented reality.
The exhibition will be accompanied by an extensive public programme of live activations and curator-led tours. This year also sees the debut of Bloomberg Connects as the Official Digital Guide for Frieze Sculpture. Available on the Bloomberg Connects app, the free guide, containing exclusive content and an audio tour of the works narrated by Üstek, will be accessible throughout the exhibition’s run.
Frieze Sculpture is a proud participant in London Sculpture Week, a city-wide collaboration that unites four unmissable cultural initiatives: Frieze Sculpture, the Fourth Plinth, Sculpture in the City and The Line.
